THE INTEGRAL TURBULENT DIFFUSION
FLAMES MODELLING FOR
DIESEL COMBUSTION CALCULATION
A method based on the turbulent diffusion flame model is proposed for calculation of the combustion and soot formation in Diesel engines. Heat release rate is determined by mass flow balance in the turbulent diffusion flame and the Tesner-Magnussen model is used for soot formation calculation. The results agree well with the experimental data obtained in an engine having a large optical access and in an industrial engine.
